 we are sorry

On May 1st, 2015, a South African Jewish group organized a public ceremony in Israel to apologize for the use of their funds to build the "South Africa Forest". That forest was planted on the lands of the destroyed Palestininan village Lubya (Galilee).

Lubya was destroyed by the Israeli army during the aftermath of the war in 1948.

This event was organized by Zochrot ("remembering" in Hebrew), an Israeli NGO who keeps the memory of the Naqba alive (the exodus/catastrophe after 1948).
